Belleville Insulation – professional contractors serving the Bay of Quinte region

Why hire a professional insulation company?

Hiring a residential insulation contractor is the best way to make sure your upgrades are done properly. We can ensure that your upgrades meet the Ontario Building Code and that the work is done safely and quickly.

If you’re thinking of doing some home improvement, you might consider starting with an inspection and assessment. A professional inspection and assessment will help you to make the right decisions about the best type of insulation for your home. This will ensure that the most cost-effective options are offered for product and installation.

In order to ensure that you are getting the best value for your money, you should hire an experienced professional contractor. We will inspect your home, identify any potential problems, and provide you with a cost estimate for the project. Professional installers can recommend the right product(s) for your home.

Install Fiberglass attic

We’ll provide you with viable residential insulation options that will help your home remain energy efficient for years to come. We specialize in residential installations, so we understand the nuances of building structure and the typical issues that develop in older properties. Our technicians are highly skilled and trained, and they are trained to troubleshoot just about any challenge they might run into.

Different types of residential insulation for different parts of the home

There are many different types of residential insulation available for your home:

Fiberglass insulation is a good choice for installing insulation inside wall frames and exposed basement and cellar walls.

Spray foam insulation is blown on to surfaces and in able to penetrate cracks and gaps so that a complete seal is created. Certain types can create high insulating value while maintaining a very thin profile.

Expandable spray foam is insulation that is blown into cracks and crevices that are allowing heat to escape, expanding to make an airtight seal and prevent heat loss.

Rigid foam or fibrous board insulation is also used when there’s a need for insulation that can withstand high temperatures.

Cellulose insulation is made of recycled paper fiber – usually post-consumer waste newsprint.

Attic insulation

The attic is one of the first areas in most residential homes where insulation gains can be made. Cellulose and fiberglass are both great choices for attic insulation upgrades. Cellulose has greater density than fiberglass, but both have similar R-values.

Belleville Insulation uses only the highest quality insulation products. Our installers use a special blower to ensure a uniform and consistent insulation blanket throughout the attic and roof cavity. Specialized equipment is used to protect all of the gaps, cracks, and crevices throughout the attic and roof cavity.

The importance of attic ventilation

Insulation is essential for optimal thermal performance in a home. Without adequate ventilation, it is counterproductive to insulate an attic. Belleville Insulation evaluates your situation and offers several solutions.

Basic roof vents are not very efficient. They’re designed to vent warm air and moisture from the roof deck, but not to provide much ventilation. If you install low profile roof vents close to the edge of the roof, they work effectively, but you’ll probably want to replace them with more efficient vents.

Roof ridge venting, also known as static ridge venting, is an important part of a well-designed roof. Combining ridge vents with soffit vents allows for even temperature distribution throughout the attic. When you install soffit vents, you should install ridge vents to create a complete ventilation system.

Powered vents are designed to vent very hot air and moisture from the attic and may be required in certain applications. These units are electronically powered, and operate quietly.

Rake vents are designed to ventilate crawl spaces, keeping them dry. They are also used in ventilation systems, where they are strategically placed to allow outside air to move in and out of the attic.

Insulation removal

Belleville Insulation will work with you to remove your insulation properly and safely. We’ll determine if complete insulation removal is necessary or if a “top up” will do.

We also inspect for air leaks and water leaks. Some of them require repair or retrofit.
